All staff on 1 East

Staff on 1 East main floor at St. Therese Villa make a positive impression. As the family, we are encouraged to know that when our parents who both resided at St Therese Villa were going through a tough time, we were comforted by seeing the kindness the staff gave them. We recognize sometimes the situation could be frustrating. The staff always did what they could to help and accepted our parents where they were. This caring reassured us as our dad’s illness progressed and he passed away. After our dad passed away, staff would visit our mom and sit with her acknowledging her grief.

The staff regularly acknowledge residents. It might be someone’s birthday, visitors or there may be an opportunity to include a resident in the facility newsletter. The team is aware of how residents are doing physically and mentally and adapt to each situation.

Our family often sees the staff acknowledging a resident’s difficult day. They always respond with kindness and positivity. We have overheard staff saying it may be a bad day today, but it will get better, and you are safe. Sometimes residents act out or are repetitive or sad and the staff responds with kindness and encouragement. We saw this firsthand with our parents.

The compassionate care provided by the staff on 1 East main floor has made the loss of our dad and the continued care of our mom more comfortable. We are grateful.
