Narinder Gusany, environmental services supervisor

Narinder Gusany, environmental services supervisor, fosters an environment of respect for her employees, other staff and residents. She respects everyone’s religion, upbringing and opinions. She celebrates holidays, birthdays and life events. Narinder reminds her staff that St. Joseph’s is the residents’ home, so staff must treat residents and their environment with respect. She teaches her staff to respect residents’ privacy by not entering their rooms when care is being provided or when their families are visiting.

Daily she shows her staff she cares about them. Narinder takes the time to tell her staff they are doing a good job and to thank them for their hard work. During COVID-19, she encouraged them, brought in extra staff, checked in to see how they were feeling and if they needed anything. When her team was shorthanded, she moved staff around to get jobs done with the least disruption, and she managed to get everything done beyond standards. Narinder also talked to residents about the changes to the work her staff had to do so the residents would understand what the team was doing to keep them safe.

Narinder works hard as a supervisor, and it shows in the way people listen to her and respect her.
