Josi Haggerty, Alyssa Wardle

Through effective communication Villa Caritas’ clinical nurse educators, Josi Haggarty and Alyssa Wardle, weave threads of engagement to foster empowered teams at the site. They make purposeful rounds on each unit to forge connections and address pressing issues. They act as conduits between staff and management. The support they offer is not only reactive, but it also proactively embraces concerns and needs. Through their daily checkins with management, Josi and Alyssa create an environment where everyone is on the same page.

The clinical nurse educators help develop, implement and evaluate many project roll outs onsite. Josi and Alyssa were part of the recruitment process planning. Taking the lead on this project they delved into detailed statistics surrounding postings, casual workforce numbers and the retention of casual staff. From this information they created a suite of documents that support the management team and standardize procedures in the site. By establishing clear concise guidelines, they increased efficient communication, ensuring the whole team operates from a unified well-informed perspective.

Josi and Alyssa’s open-door policy is not just a phrase; it is a living testament to their commitment. They are receptive to any concern, question or idea brought forward. Their work does not stop there, they provide instant support and are willing to problem solve keeping a solution-focused attitude. Their proactive problem-solving approach ensures challenges are met with ideas that flourish into impactful actions.
